Llangollen waterways allowed the area to connect, via the River Dee, to the north and, via the River Severn, to the south while at the same time connecting to the network of canals in England.
These canals and waterways are still well maintained today and provide a great tourist attraction and recreational past time in the form of the canal narrowboats.
The Llangollen canal sweeps through the welsh countryside and across the Dee valley offering one of the most relaxing enviroments to travel through.
